Tours Of The Farm

Tours are done on the farm in Spring, Summer, and Fall, and vary just slightly. Tours last approximately an hour and are scheduled Monday through Friday. Summer and Fall tours are not offered on Thursdays. Tour times are 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. Occasional 4:00 tours are given for youth and after school groups. Accommodations are available for both small and large groups. Picnic areas are available, but reservations are needed. Tour reservations should be made well in advance, as many of our most popular tour times fill quickly. Activity Packages can be added to the basic tour for an additional fee.

SPRING TOURS:
Students are given a tractor drawn hayride around our 90 acre working farm. We stop along the way and give a series of educational talks about the farm and our many growing crops. The students get to meet our friendly farm animals and learn about each of them...including our current "crop" of new baby goats and lambs. A tour of our 15,000 square foot greenhouse facilities is enjoyed by all while they learn about planting techniques and our greenhouse technology. Students, teachers, and chaperones receive a plant to pot, a refrigerator magnet, and a farm coloring book.
Spring Tours are available throughout the months of May and June.

SUMMER TOURS:
Summer tours follow the same format as our Spring Tours, and are available June to early July, before the weather becomes too hot. Along with all the exciting activities described above, your students will also get to pick an in season vegetable.

FALL TOURS:
Students are given a tractor drawn hayride around our 90 acre working farm and we stop along the way to give a series of educational talks about the farm and our crops. The students get to meet our friendly farm animals and learn about each of them. Pumpkin picking is enjoyed by all as the students hustle to find that perfect pumpkin to call their own. Students, teachers, and chaperones pick their sugar pumpkin and receive a refrigerator magnet, and farm coloring book. You can add Apple Picking to any of our fall packages to complete your farm experience. Fall Tours are available throughout the months of September and October.
