September and October is the most exciting time for visiting Von Thun Farms! Our harvest season is in full swing — we have activities and events galore! We host educational school field trips, as well as group events and birthday parties by reservation only. Weekends on the farm are guaranteed fun with different activities offered each weekend!
*October 9th & 10th, 2010 – Fall Festival Weekend ($5 Admission per person, under 3 free)
*October 16th & 17th, 2010 – Lion’s Club Pig Roast Weekend (Free Admission)
*October 29th & 30th, 2010 – Moonlight Corn MAiZE (Friday & Saturday, 6-10 pm) $8 per person, age 3 & under Free
Weekend Festivities
Offerering hayrides to the pick-your-own Pumpkin Patch! Activities for kids (may vary each weekend) including our 5+ acre interactive corn maze, straw maze, pony rides, petting zoo, pedal courses, face painting, inflatable moon jump, rubber duck racing, sand art, and candy art. Be sure to visit Peter the Talking Pumpkin and our Agricultural Center while you visit. Come hungry and have lunch from one of our food vendors or munch our ‘farm fresh’ goodies.
Time: 10am – 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays

In the Country Market
Our farm market is opened daily with thousands of homegrown hardy mums, pumpkins, and all your fall decorating needs, including corn stalks, indian corn, gourds, and more! We have a wonderful assortment of fall gifts and goodies, featuring decorative halloween lawn stakes, wall hangings and our humble garden crows and scarecrows.
Good Things to Eat
Delicious farm fruit pies, apple cider, candy apples, our own VonThun Farms jams and jellies, homegrown in-season vegetables, and assorted baked goods are also available in the market.
Mums in Many Colors
Our home grown hardy field mums are available throughout September and October and are available in dozens of colors and varieties. 20,000 mums are grown annually on the farm so be sure to stop by to pick out those perfect ones for you.
Visit the Apple Orchard
U-Pick apples are available while the crop lasts!
Pick-your-own apple orchard will be open in the Fall as the apples become plentiful. Be sure to come out early in the season for a great selection! Our apple varieties include Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Autumn Gala, Cameo, Nittany, Suncrisp, and Snapp Stayman. Some varieties may be ready for picking in early September, so please call for availability.

Be sure to visit the new, interactive, 5+ acre Cornfield MAiZE we’ve added to this year’s annual fall line-up! We have teamed up with a professional Corn Maze company from Utah to help bring our annual Corn Maze to an exciting new level. We hope to challenge the wits of those seeking to find the one exit from their mind-boggling puzzle — a unique source of good farmin’ fun for adults and children alike.
